Grenada Carnival Queen Show Contestant Retreat 2023 Held at The Point at Petite Calivigny

Every year during the second week of August, Grenada celebrates its historic carnival festival or Spicemas as it is referred to by many. This week-long festival has different aspects and attractions including a Carnival Queen Show, Soca Monarch and Dimanche Gras Competitions, J’Ouvert, Monday Night Mas, traditional Mas and carnival parade of the bands.

On June 7th 2023, The Point at Petite Calivigny partnered with the Grenada Carnival Committee to host a special themed retreat for the contestants of this year’s Carnival Queen Show. With the theme, Women in Leadership and Wellness, the contestants were treated to a day at The Point which started with a local breakfast; a panel session consisting of guest speakers who are leaders in their respective professions;  yoga as well as discussions surrounding makeup and skin care.

Kelliann Waldron, The Point’s Marketing Manager – who also participated on the panel as a speaker for the ‘Women in Leadership’ session – expressed her delight in being part of the retreat where the young ladies were able to benefit and learn from the experience of women who have built successful careers.  “We are truly honoured to be a part of this wonderful initiative that helps empower young ladies and inspire them on their journey to the crown”, she commented.

The day’s retreat culminated in a sponsor cocktail held at The Point’s waterfront Fire Lounge.

The Management and Staff at The Point wishes the Carnival Queen Show Contestants and the Grenada Carnival Committee a successful season which will culminate in a grand showcase on August 10th 2024.
